Brand Designer
Define and ship the brand surfaces — marketing site, decks, event materials, illustration system — for Hatch as we move toward Series B. Partner with the founding designer (when they join) and report to Diego (Design Lead).
About the role
The current brand surface (this site, the marketing site, our sales decks, conference materials) was built by Diego and the founders in the first 18 months. It's functional but it's about to be the front face of a Series B company, and it deserves a dedicated owner.
You'd own the marketing site, the deck system, illustration direction, event materials, and the brand book. You'd partner with the Developer Advocate on content design (covers, hero illustrations for posts) and with the Head of Product on enterprise-deck-style work.
This is brand-first, but you'd still own at least one product surface (probably the onboarding flow). We don't keep a hard wall between brand and product.
What you'll do
• Own the marketing site end-to-end — current site is being rebuilt this quarter; you'd own v2.
• Build out a deck system the GTM team can actually use. Enterprise sales, conference talks, board updates — all from the same underlying system.
• Direct illustration for the blog. Hire freelancers or commission staff illustrators as the brand voice clarifies.
• Own brand for conference + event work — booth design, materials, swag direction. We sponsor about a dozen events a year.
• Take one product surface (likely onboarding) as your IC product responsibility.
Who you are
• Five-plus years as a brand or marketing designer at a Series A–C tech company that valued design seriously.
• Strong illustration direction. You don't need to be an illustrator yourself, but you need to be able to direct the work — pick the right person, write the brief, review the output.
• Comfortable with print as well as digital. Conference materials matter.
• Some product-design fluency — you'd be partnering with the founding designer on the shared system and owning one product surface.
• US-timezone friendly. You'd be partnering closely with Diego (Brooklyn) and the GTM team.
About Hatch
Hatch is the workflow runtime for AI-native products. We're a 32-person team across Brooklyn and Berlin, $42M Series A (Accel + Khosla), and 250+ customers running production workloads on us today. Founded in 2024 by Mei Tanaka (ex-design lead at Notion) and Aaron Park (ex-infra at Stripe and Modal).
Our customers ship AI agents, copilots, and autonomous workflows. We solve the boring problems underneath them: queueing, retries, versioning, observability, rollback. The product is opinionated, the docs are honest, and the bills don't surprise you. We're remote-OK with hubs in two cities, comp is transparent, and we hire slow on purpose — the team you'd join all read the runtime end-to-end in their first two weeks.
