About the role

The workflow editor is the surface where Hatch customers actually compose, debug, and deploy their AI workflows. It's the product that has to feel like Linear and run like Stripe. Today it's owned by Helena (Head of Product) — she's looking for the second PM hire to own it directly while she focuses on the broader roadmap.

You'd own roadmap, prioritization, customer research, and shipping for the editor. You'd partner with Diego on design and with the two engineers on the editor team. The hardest parts of the role are the technical depth (you'll need to deeply understand AI workflows) and the customer obsession (talking to 5-10 customers a week, every week).

Reports to Helena, partners with engineering and design, regularly briefs Mei on roadmap.

What you'll do

• Own the workflow-editor product surface end-to-end. Set the quarterly roadmap, write the design docs, drive prioritization, ship.

• Talk to 5-10 customers per week. Not survey work — real conversations with AI engineers about what they're building and where Hatch breaks.

• Partner with Diego on design — we run a real PM-design weekly, no "can you make this thing" tickets.

• Drive the v2 launch of the editor (planned September 2026). You'd own the customer-facing narrative; eng owns the technical correctness.

• Help us hire the next PM (workflow runtime side) once you're settled.

Who you are

• Five-plus years as a product manager at a developer-tools, AI, or technical-SaaS company. You've shipped products that engineers actually love.

• Technical depth. You don't need to write production code, but you do need to be comfortable reading a Rust function signature and asking the right next question.

• Strong writer. Most of your output as a PM at Hatch is design docs and roadmap memos.

• Customer obsession that shows up in artifacts — research notes, problem briefs, ranked customer-pain lists, not just claims.

• US-timezone-friendly (the editor team is mostly US-based; you'd be in three customer calls a day).

About Hatch

Hatch is the workflow runtime for AI-native products. We're a 32-person team across Brooklyn and Berlin, $42M Series A (Accel + Khosla), and 250+ customers running production workloads on us today. Founded in 2024 by Mei Tanaka (ex-design lead at Notion) and Aaron Park (ex-infra at Stripe and Modal).

Our customers ship AI agents, copilots, and autonomous workflows. We solve the boring problems underneath them: queueing, retries, versioning, observability, rollback. The product is opinionated, the docs are honest, and the bills don't surprise you. We're remote-OK with hubs in two cities, comp is transparent, and we hire slow on purpose — the team you'd join all read the runtime end-to-end in their first two weeks.
