About the role

Hatch's top 50 customers run real production workloads — many of them with custom integration needs, performance constraints, or domain-specific orchestration shapes. The Solutions Engineering role is the second pair of hands for those customers: pre-sales technical depth, onboarding, and the first 90 days of production deployment.

You'd partner with the GTM team on pre-sales calls (the technical voice in the room), then own onboarding and implementation for whichever accounts you take through the door. After 90 days the customer transitions to support; before that they're your responsibility.

You'd also be the closest customer-feedback loop into the product team. The PRDs Helena writes for the editor depend on your weekly notes from customer calls.

What you'll do

• Be the technical lead on pre-sales calls for enterprise prospects. ~5 calls a week.

• Own onboarding for new enterprise accounts — 90-day milestones, weekly check-ins, custom integration work where needed.

• Write the customer-facing technical playbook for each major use case we serve. Today there are five playbooks; we'd grow to ten by year end.

• Feed structured customer feedback into product weekly. Real notes, not anecdotes.

• Travel ~25% — most of it 1-2 day visits to top accounts in NYC, SF, London, Berlin.

Who you are

• Three-plus years in a solutions engineering, customer engineering, or hands-on technical-account-manager role at a B2B developer-tools company.

• You can write working code. Most of your output is example apps, integration glue, and customer-facing playbooks — you need to be able to ship those yourself.

• Comfortable being on calls all day — but also able to disappear into deep work for 4 hours at a time. We protect that time.

• Strong written communication. Customer follow-ups, internal triage notes, playbook writing — all writing.

• Some AI / workflow / orchestration background helps, but not required.

About Hatch

Hatch is the workflow runtime for AI-native products. We're a 32-person team across Brooklyn and Berlin, $42M Series A (Accel + Khosla), and 250+ customers running production workloads on us today. Founded in 2024 by Mei Tanaka (ex-design lead at Notion) and Aaron Park (ex-infra at Stripe and Modal).

Our customers ship AI agents, copilots, and autonomous workflows. We solve the boring problems underneath them: queueing, retries, versioning, observability, rollback. The product is opinionated, the docs are honest, and the bills don't surprise you. We're remote-OK with hubs in two cities, comp is transparent, and we hire slow on purpose — the team you'd join all read the runtime end-to-end in their first two weeks.
